Anne is a mixed media artist whose work is imbued with a visceral sensibility.
She’s inspired by the shifting cycles of daylight into night, the ebb and flow of the seasons, and the parade of shape, colour, line, and texture that herald the presence of nature’s fluctuating rhythms.
Her approach combines painting, collage, and drawing. She builds up each surface alternating between thick layers of paint or thin glazes, gestural drawings, and collage. While some layers are left intact, others get sanded back to reveal subtle textures and traces of each painting’s history. Her process is like a fluid conversation of listening and responding, an improvisation of active mark marking and quiet observation.
Anne received her BFA from Concordia University in Montreal. Her work was chosen for an Art2Life 2018 juried show by the Seager/Gray Gallery in San Francisco.
