Downtown, walking past the bars on Bishop Street, I heard New Order’s “Blue Monday” vibrating onto a snow cleared path. A bouncer hunched over, in synthetic zebra platform shoes, his palms cupped together, praying for the wind to grant safe passage for his lighter’s flame to meet his cigarette.
